The Cirlock RCD/Circuit Breaker Short Toggle Lockout CIRUCL2EL is a compact lockout device designed to help prevent unintended energisation of compatible circuit breakers during electrical maintenance and servicing. It is suitable for certain types of moulded case circuit breakers and is designed to clamp onto a compatible breaker toggle while it is in the OFF position.

Made from nylon plastic with a zinc-plated metal set screw, the CIRUCL2EL provides a practical solution for securing short breaker toggles as part of an electrical lockout procedure. Once fitted, a padlock can be placed through the locking hole to prevent access to the set screw, helping stop unauthorised or accidental operation of the breaker.

Compact Construction for Practical Lockout Applications

The Cirlock CIRUCL2EL has a compact 51mm × 25mm × 23mm wide profile, making it suitable for applications where space around circuit protection equipment is limited. The device can clamp onto breaker toggles up to 8mm in size and is tightened using a small screwdriver.

For installation, place the lockout over the circuit breaker toggle while it is in the OFF position, tighten the set screw securely, and fit a suitable padlock through the designated hole. After installation, verify that the breaker cannot be moved to the ON position.

Check Breaker Compatibility Before Use

The CIRUCL2EL is not suitable for all MCCBs. It cannot be used with earlier-type SAFE-T DRCB E/L circuit breakers featuring a longer toggle. Compatibility should also be checked carefully when using the device with NHP Safe-T N15251 breakers, as the toggle shape must be rounded for the lockout to fit correctly.
